isn’t random so… erm….. random!
Hey guys
Taste and see is this Sunday, are you excited? I am. Unfortunately I don’t know what’s going to happen on Sunday, so it has made me think about unexpectedness, how do you feel when something happens that you just don’t expect to happen?
God is the ultimate unexpected random person because he does things that we wouldn’t expect to happen. When Jesus walked on water do you think that the fishermen expected it or was it something random that they couldn’t have even imagined?
This weeks blog isn’t aimed for thought provoking or life changing moments, its designed for all of you to reply and say what god has done with you that was random and unexpected, so read all the replies and be encouraged by each other.
See you all on Sunday

Hiya Guys!!
Ok this question was really hard for me and i spent a fair amount of time thinking about it. I think thatthe random thing that God did for me was…introduce me to Abbi. (And im sorry if she’s embarrassed by this but its tough now!!) Its hard to believe, but Abbi was quite shy when she first came to our church and when i first met her, i really couldn’t see myself being as close to her as i am now. But when i got to know her, i was like Wow! Excuse me, how cool is this girl?!?! Anyway, i think God brought Abbi to me to encourage me in my faith. Just looking at the way Abbi lives her life and how much she loves God and how devoted she is to Him, inspires me to be closer anda lot more faithful to Him than i have been. So…yer…thanks Abbi! I’m going to end there anyway, its going to be really interesting to see what some of the rest of you say! Cya soon. Luv you all loads! Han xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My life, just like everyone elses is full of random moments, some good and some bad. But the point is that they all happen for a reason. They may seem random to us, but God has a plan and he knows what he’s doing.
So I think one of my most random moments was coming into this Youth group. It wasn’t planned and I definatley wasn’t expecting it. It was all down to one person who didn’t invite me, they just told me that I was coming, pretty much out of the blue, about half an hour before we were due at Ant’s house that Sunday night.
It all happened really quickly, and even though I didn’t really want to go at the start, before I knew it I was one of the group, and now it plays one of the biggest parts in my faith.
I have met some pretty amazing people through St Lukes, and made freinds that I will treasure forever.
I just always try to think that whenever something seems too random to be true, God is making it happen for a reason. We might not be able to see it, but we have to trust that he knows what he’s doing.
God Bless

Aww thanks Han…love you too!!!
Most of you can probably guess what unexpecting thing God did for me…He sent me to Africa for two of the best years of my life! It wasn’t all great over there; they were also two of the hardest years of my life. But no matter what i will never regret them, because i learn’t things that i would never have learned otherwise. If i hadn’t gone there i wouldn’t be a part of this youth group and my faith would not be nearly as strong as it is now. Some things i saw have scarred me but in way that’s good not bad. This phrase pretty much sums it up:
Yeah, the cuts are there, but I’ve gotta stop searching for them under the plasters.
basically yeah i’ve seen bad stuff, but as long as i don’t let it consume me and as long as i use it in a positive way, i’m glad i’ve seen what i have.
As Vicky said; everything, good and bad, happens for a reason.
Love you all,
Abbi
